NSP Steps in to Supply Signage Project when Local Supplier Fails
A large regional hospital in North Carolina was in need of a full interior signage installation for their facility. After a local sign supplier had dropped the ball, the hospital’s administration was under pressure to secure a new reliable vendor. The dealer engaged in the bidding process and partnered with Navitor Specialty Products (NSP) to consult on the project.
The hospital team shared that safety was the most important issue for their 312-bed psychiatric hospital. Way-finding was also vital. The project would include directory signage, suspending/hanging signage, patient room numbers, ADA-compliant signage, and more. Several signs required the ability to be interchangeable. In additional to installation, the project would require removal of the current signage.
A project this large justifies a thorough proposal. Our team held fact-finding conference calls with the dealer team and hospital representatives. They brainstormed appropriate sign types and decided on a proposal that would include good, better and best signage options. They gathered samples and created visual documentation, price estimates, and a production timeline to help explain the proposed options during a series of site visits.
The site visits gave our team an intimate look at the hospital and first-hand knowledge of the hospital’s needs while building our credibility as signage experts. Hospital protocol dictated that the project go out to bid. However, it was written to the detailed specifications we had provided and we were subsequently awarded the project.
We were able to offer a proposal for a comprehensive program from design and manufacture of the signage to removal of the old signage and installation of the new signs. This consultative and collaborative approach resulted in securing a large project for the distributor and opened up additional opportunities with new clients.
